Meet Ludavia

Hi! I’m Ludavia, founder of The Preschool Workshop. I’m happy you want to get to know me!

I love to laugh and smile (the most beautiful people are the one’s who smile. So, smile Mama. You’re beautiful. And if you and I get laugh lines, it just proves what a happy life we’ve enjoyed).

So,  I’m so happy that my husband loves to make me laugh and smile. He is so playful and continues to make me blush! I met him in 2005 and married him in 2007. He is definitely my best friend.

Our Oldest Son

6 years later, our son entered our lives in 2013. He has brought joy to our house we never knew existed. I love being a mom. I was called to be one!

He is such a ball full of energy. I can hardly keep up with him. Thank God for coffee, coffee, and more coffee. He’s wants to know everything about everything and be the center of attention (he makes the silliest faces and goes around saying hi to all the strangers as we pass them in the aisles of the grocery store). And he loves to build things (I think he will become a Lego Master Builder one day), read books and draw superheroes (he even drew up his own little book that we read together often).

Our Daughter

In 2015, we added a beautiful little girl to our family. She is one sweet and fiery little girl. She’s tough. And she is such a cuddle bug. I love it when she carries her favorite blanket around and holds her little baby (which is a little cat doll) giving it sweet kisses. But, don’t you dare try to take Meow Meow away (“I’m her Mama. She is my baby.”). You will see her fiery side. She loves tutus and sparkly shoes. And she loves to play in dirt and throw footballs. Her current fascination is all things outer space and lipstick (mainly drawing with it on the mirror – please help me! She finds where I hide it no matter the location).

Our Baby Son

In 2018, we added our baby son. He loves to smile and songs sung to him. His favorite song is Wheels on the Bus (maybe because I add silly motions with it). It makes him belly laugh so hard. I just love to cuddle with him. He’s rolling around all over the floor. He is so determined to catch up with his older brother and sister.

**We need an updated family pic for sure! Hopefully next month!

Why The Preschool Workshop

The Hunt for a Curriculum for My Kids

I remember the first time I bought a curriculum for my son when he was 3 and a half years old.

They provided me a lot of printables with no order to them. I tried to figure out what went with what and organize it into folders. But, it was very difficult.

I gave up.

I didn’t have the time nor the energy to try to figure out the order of someone else’s work. So, I searched for something else.

I found one that was more organized. But, the activities were too open-ended. Some were too simple. Some were just plain boring for my son.

I ended up writing lesson plans myself.

Things that would interest him (which was mainly superhero stuff – HA!).

I promise, The Playful Learning Plan isn’t full of superheroes. Sadly, it skipped my mind when I got to the letter S. S is for Starfish in this one. But, we play superheroes daily in our house. We have a box full of costumes.

I instantly fell in love with the idea of making learning fun, incorporating interactive crafts, games, art, science and entertaining ways to do math.

Why does learning have to be such a big YAWN? It doesn’t!

So, I set out on a mission to help families, like yours, to have fun with their preschoolers. To combine fun, play, movement, literature and my knowledge of early childhood education.

And, that is exactly what I did in The Playful Learning Plan.

Amy A. (mom of two boys 3 and 4) feels the same:I just have to tell you how much I love this curriculum! I have two boys 3 and 4 and they are having so much fun! We are on the second week, the letter A. I have tried 3 other curriculums and this is the first one that they actually enjoy! Thanks so much for creating this!”

I want to help families like yours see that you can plug in learning throughout the day in the life you’re currently living.

Because learning happens wherever you decide to show up and teach. And you can be the best teacher for your preschooler!

In the Playful Learning Plan, I encourage families to rid their brain of the idea that you must have a traditional school schedule in your home.

You don’t!

That’s what’s awesome about homeschool!

  • You can do an hour of activities in the morning and decide to do an hour in the late afternoon.
  • You can bunch your 2 hours and knock it out (way to go, Mom! High-five your preschooler for that).
  • You can do 20 minutes here. 20 minutes there.

But, stay consistent with how you do it.

Heck! You can decide to drive to the beach and search for starfish. And really get hands on.

Amazing! Right?!

I also share homeschooling tips for busy families -how to make homeschooling part of your lifestyle.

I originally thought I had to do traditional school in my home. And that stressed me out so badly. I started to get overwhelmed. It made me hyperventilate.

Not good! I don’t want that for you. So, let’s connect and we can go through the journey together!

Let’s Connect

I would love to connect more on Instagram and  Facebook (I post encouraging things on there everyday). And I pin fun preschool activities on Pinterest.

Thanks for reading a little about me and I can’t wait to get to know you!
